Wedding Photographer Limburg: Romantic wedding photos at Thiessen Wijnkoopers in Maastricht
Wedding photography in Maastricht this time, last Saturday at the rainiest wedding I have ever been a part of. Fortunately, it was no less beautiful and spontaneous because of that.
This young, cheerful couple had booked me long ago. The romantic story of the doctor and the nurse was what I had the opportunity to capture this time in a journalistic way.
From the parking lot of the Sphinx building, I rushed to the market in Maastricht after capturing the bride getting ready at home in Heer, hoping to catch a glimpse of the stylish convertible bridal car, and then it started raining! I always try to look neat, preferably a bit like a guest, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case today.
However, the picture I took at the market in front of the town hall was so beautiful. The stylish blue car with a giant umbrella above it. It looked so great. The bride was not at all concerned about her beautiful bridal hairstyle, and they drove carefree towards Thiessen Wijnkoopers, where they were awaited by the remaining guests.
In the beautiful courtyard of Thiessen, a setup was arranged for the ceremony. This is a kind of conservatory, so there was still plenty of daylight. When everyone was seated, the radiant couple entered the space for an unofficial ceremony. Both fathers told a funny and interesting story about their son and daughter, and then, instead of the traditional exchange of wedding rings, there was a special watch for the groom and an alternative ring for the bride.
After the kiss, there was an immediate toast and a delicious wedding cake. After that, I set off with the couple to Bunde. The bride is an enthusiastic equestrian, and her horse could not be missing from the wedding reportage. As a surprise, her stablemates on horseback were also present. So nice to see. Everyone had made so much effort, all came in competition attire, but the threatening sky quickly turned into a heavy rain shower. So we quickly took some photos with her horse.
Because we wanted a photo with the fragrance of lilacs, honey was smeared on his lips, resulting in a very funny image. By now, quite soaked, we quickly headed to the car and completed the rest of the wedding reportage inside and outside Thiessen in the beautiful spaces and in a funny little car with wine barrels under a canopy.
The next phase was a delightful walking dinner in the cellars of Thiessen Wijnkoopers, where the master of ceremonies delivered a nice speech. Around eight o'clock, the evening guests entered, and it was time for the opening dance.
While the entire party danced and enjoyed the evening with a glass of wine, I said goodbye to go back into the rain, on my way to my car.
