Wedding Photographer Maastricht: Wedding Photos of an International Wedding at Castle De Hoogenweerth in Maastricht

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing another special wedding. As a wedding photographer, I particularly enjoy international weddings. It's fascinating to witness the blending of two different cultures. In this case, the bride was from Bolivia, and the groom was from Friesland.

The Preparations

Around half past 12, I arrived at Castle De Hoogenweerth to capture the wedding reportage. Everyone was casually moving around, assisting with decorating the castle and the ceremony venue. After half an hour, I headed to the suite to capture photos of the bride's makeup. Subsequently, she got dressed, accompanied by her mother and sister-in-law.

Dressing and Ceremony

The groom's dressing process was a bit less smooth than usual (it's usually the quickest part), as there was an issue with tying the tie. Various family members were involved, and ultimately, an uncle from Bolivia turned out to be the savior. The tie was knotted, and it was time to go downstairs to the backyard, where the wedding ceremony took place under a tree, conducted in Dutch, English, and Spanish. It was a beautiful and personal ceremony, with the bride and groom delivering speeches to each other.

Congratulations and Toasts

After the vows and ring exchange, it was time for congratulations, a toast, followed by speeches from both sets of parents on the castle steps. Then, everyone gathered for a relaxed socializing period, during which I captured spontaneous wedding photos of the unfolding moments. Some people enjoyed conversations by the water, watching and waving at passing boats on the Maas River.

Group Photos and Photoshoot

Meanwhile, it was time for group photos, followed by the wedding reportage/photoshoot of the couple, conducted around the castle. Before dinner, I took a photo of the entire group with the newlyweds from the balcony.

Dinner and Celebration

Subsequently, the entire party sat down at a table under the trees for a shared dinner, concluding with a delightful naked wedding cake.

During dinner, I edited a series of photos presented on a TV screen, occasionally being updated via WhatsApp about photogenic moments during the meal. Soon, dinner concluded, and the evening transitioned into the celebration and the first dance.
