Wedding Photographer Limburg: Candid Wedding Photos at the Abbey of Rolduc and De Twee Gezusters in Heerlen
I was on my way to a wedding reportage when I received a call from this groom. The question was whether I had time to capture their wedding on Sunday, February 2, 2020. 02.02.20 is a special date that the groom won't easily forget. It was a short 2-hour coverage.
They booked me based on Google reviews without us having met before. We agreed to meet (as it was a drizzly day) at 1 o'clock at the Abbey of Rolduc in Kerkrade. We introduced ourselves and immediately started with the photoshoot. First in the staircase on the beautiful steps, and then we moved to the Rococo library (one of my favorite places for a wedding reportage when it's raining).
Here, we took romantic wedding photos in front of the large windows, but also standing with the background of the beautiful details of the ceilings and the cabinets with old books. After that, I asked them to sit together at the piano. We had only half an hour in total, and then I had to quickly get back to my car and head to Heerlen. Park the car quickly in the Q-Park garage, then walk to the chapel of De Twee Gezusters, where all the guests were already seated. Quickly shake hands with the officiant, measure my light, and off we go.
The bride and groom entered together while all the guests applauded. It was a beautiful ceremony with speeches from a close friend and a family member. After the wedding ceremony, I took a few more group photos. To conclude this mini wedding reportage, I captured a few shots of the room where everyone enjoyed coffee with Limburgse vlaai.
