A second chance at love: Spontaneous wedding photos full of emotion at Vaalsbroek Castle
Welcome to my blog! I’m Shirley Born, a passionate wedding photographer with 15 years of experience, an eye for detail, and a heart for romance. Today, I’m excited to share the beautiful story of this couple, who, after nine years together, celebrated their love with a fairytale wedding surrounded by friends and family.
Their special story
They met online nine years ago. What started as a few messages on a dating site evolved into a deep and meaningful relationship. Their love is a wonderful example of how life can offer a second chance, and how true love always finds a way to blossom. Throughout their relationship, they have not only shared their lives but also fulfilled their dreams by building a beautiful house in the idyllic rolling hills.
The preparations
The day began with preparations at their stunning home, where I had the privilege of capturing the makeup and hairstyling done by the talented Marloud of Visagie Marlou. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and joy as the bride got ready. Meanwhile, the groom and his three sons were dressing up, creating some heartwarming and unforgettable moments that I was able to capture with my camera.
The first look
Once everyone was ready and the bride was glowing in her soft green dress, the “first look” took place. At the bottom of the stairs, everyone gathered, full of excitement and emotion. The groom and his sons stood ready to see the bride for the first time. The moment the bride descended the stairs was magical; the joy and love in their eyes were priceless. Capturing these pure, spontaneous emotions is what makes wedding photography so special.
Outdoor ceremony with a civil officer from the municipality of Vaals
The ceremony was held outdoors, surrounded by the lush gardens of Bilderberg Vaalsbroek Castle. A civil officer from the municipality of Vaals led the couple through their vows of love and commitment. Under a radiant sky, they exchanged their self-written vows, expressing their deepest feelings and promises to each other. It was a moment of purity and intimacy that deeply touched everyone present.
Wedding cake from Eclair Gebak: A sweet beginning
After the ceremony, the delicious wedding cake from Eclair Gebak was cut. The couple cut the cake together, surrounded by their loved ones who congratulated them on this sweet moment of celebration and connection.
Sheep herding with sheep: An unexpected surprise
Next, the groom surprised everyone by announcing that they would go sheep herding. This unique event, organized by Double Events, was a playful nod to the groom's last name, Schaap (sheep), and brought everyone together for a unique and fun activity.
Culinary delight at Vaalsbroek Castle: The wedding dinner
The dinner took place inside Vaalsbroek Castle. Under the sounds of live music from a saxophonist who also sang, culinary delights were served, and warm conversations and speeches were shared.
