Wedding photographer Maastricht: Getting married for the second time at Estate Castle de Hoogenweerth
Getting married for the second time is mainly about consciously enjoying the day with your loved ones. Such a day is also a joy to photograph.
In love with Hoogenweerth castle as a wedding venue
This couple was brave enough to give love a second chance. They knew they wanted to stay together for the rest of their lives, in good times and bad, even without making it official. Oh, and a wedding, that wasn't necessary. A visit to Estate Castle de Hoogenweerth in Maastricht changed everything. The couple instantly fell in love with this top wedding venue. "If I ever get married again, it will be here," said the bride-to-be, looking around with wide eyes. "Let's do it," her future husband replied spontaneously. Less than an hour later, everything was arranged with the event manager. Life flows better when everything is in sync.
Unwinding on your wedding day at Hoogenweerth
The day started off relaxed in the morning sun. First, the solar-powered bicycle from hairstylist Noel was extensively admired. No one was in a hurry. It seemed like this friendly greeting ritual had driven away all evil spirits because the wedding day was a succession of heartfelt moments. While Shirley and I took photos of the preparations and Noel perfected the bridal hairstyle, friends came and went in the bridal suite. They laughed, talked, ate, and hugged together. In between, the bride and groom always found time to touch each other and exchange a we're-doing-this-together look, even when the bride quickly had to iron her son's shirt on the floor of the suite. A son who was more than proud of his mother, whom he could give away in her lace wedding dress.
Getting married on the grass at Hoogenweerth Castle
Outside on the grass, next to the white chairs, marriage officiant Ingrid from Samen Trouwen officiated their wedding. The wedding ceremony was about connection: hands seeking each other, a groom dreamily looking at his wife, and a bride listening to her own story with a lump in her throat, told by their dear friend Ingrid. The "I do" was sealed with a glass of champagne, joyfully shared by all present.
No traditional wedding reportage
Although the newlyweds had indicated beforehand that they didn't want a traditional wedding reportage, they were happy to let Shirley take them for a just-the-two-of-us wedding shoot amid the summer greenery of the estate. Remarrying is not taken for granted. The second time you marry, you do it much more consciously, wanting the day to pass less quickly and having all the time to talk to everyone.
