Wedding photographer North Limburg: Creative and spontaneous wedding photos during an international autumn wedding at Castle Groot Buggenum
An American-German bride and a Dutch groom. Two super spontaneous people who happen to meet on a dating app, meet in Venlo, and then spontaneously fall in love! How beautiful is that?
How the wedding day started for me as a wedding photographer
Well, what's even more beautiful is that I got to capture the wedding story. At 12 o'clock, I arrived at the beautiful Castle Groot Buggenum. Everything was set up outside for an outdoor autumn-themed wedding ceremony. Dark red asters, white folding chairs – everyone was busy while I rushed with my camera trolley towards the entrance to go to the library, a beautiful space where the bride, her sister, and mother were getting their makeup and hair done. It was a cheerful atmosphere: the enthusiastic American mother chatting, the makeup artist busy making the bride look beautiful.
I didn't forget to photograph the "getting ready" of the groom either
So, I took a break to go to the banquet hall, above which was a space where the gentlemen were changing. It was also nice to capture. The groom dressing up, putting on his bow tie, and attaching the cufflinks. And as always, someone was standing with their phone watching YouTube on how to tie a tie.
The big moment was almost here
Always an important moment for me: the father seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. However, I couldn't help but laugh when the father entered the room with the remark "dad calling for duty!" So no tears this time. I quickly made my way to the ceremony location. Hid my cameras out of sight, introduced myself to the officiant, and there she came... the bride, walking between her father and mother through the arch of the castle garden. A beautiful and emotional moment. Just like the entire wedding ceremony, by the way. It ended with a kiss and the exchange of rings, after which the newlyweds went to the castle tower to ring the bells.
No wedding cake at the wedding
This couple shared an oyster and had arranged a savory buffet. Everyone enjoyed a cozy time, and we took a photo of the entire group with the newlyweds on the steps of the castle. Afterward, we went for the wedding photoshoot, capturing moments around the castle amidst the apple trees.
A large series of group photos in style
At a big international wedding, people come together in combinations you'd never see in any other place. So, taking group photos is a crucial part. I took my time with this, especially capturing a beautiful photo of the bride with all the bridesmaids wearing dark red dresses in an autumn style.
Rain on your wedding day brings good luck
A few raindrops, but nobody minded. Everyone sat down under the umbrellas and the evening passed quickly. Dinner started, there were speeches (I was working on a same-day edit for the evening party), and during dessert, the banquet hall was transformed for a lively first dance, followed by the traditional tossing of the bridal bouquet.
