Wedding Photographer Roermond: Journalistic and Spontaneous Wedding Photography at Sunset Lounge and the Cathedral
Once again, I had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful wedding. I started in the morning with the bride, Marieke, in her beautiful Art Nouveau apartment in the center of Roermond.
Marieke was a bit nervous, but fortunately, the rest of the party was not, and her mother immediately went to work with a hammer so that I could hang the lace wedding dress on the balcony for a photo.
Meanwhile, Marieke was getting her makeup done by the makeup artist, and then the hairstylist arrived to help her with the bridal veil. The gorgeous classic lace dress was quickly put on with the help of her mother, and then the father of the bride arrived.
Groom Robin drove the beetle convertible wedding car along the promenade to Marieke's apartment, where he picked her up. I got to sit in the wedding car, which resulted in some fun images. First, we drove to a kiosk in the center for some photos, and then we took some wedding photos on the bridge along the Roerkade.
Soon it was time to go to the Roermond City Hall for the civil ceremony, where the bridal couple was awaited by a large group of guests. What was particularly special was that Marieke's father was the officiant who solemnized his daughter's marriage that day.
Afterwards, the entire party walked to the Roermond Cathedral for the religious ceremony. Groom Robin, who is a singer in a band, sang for bride Marieke. The whole time was filled with beautiful live music, and as a finale, the newlyweds sang to all the guests together.
After the church service, we drove to the Sunset Lounge, where the champagne toast, cutting of the beautiful wedding cake, the wedding dinner, and the evening festivities (of course, with a live band) took place.
We took additional posed photos by the water on a small jetty at sunset; it couldn't have been more romantic. In between, we also drove with the wedding car along the water to capture some beautiful photos in backlight.
The evening quickly picked up, and after the first dance, everyone hit the dance floor, immediately filling the entire lounge with dancing people. To conclude my wedding coverage, Marieke threw her bridal bouquet.
