Wedding Photographer Limburg: Spontaneous wedding reportage in Hoensbroek, Voerendaal, and Auberge de Rousch
Last weekend, I had the opportunity to capture two wedding stories. A longer wedding reportage on Friday and a smaller wedding on Saturday, but no less enjoyable to photograph.
Cathlin and Rick tied the knot at Auberge de Rousch, and I had the honor of being their wedding photographer. Two high school sweethearts. They live together in Hoensbroek, where I began the wedding photo reportage by capturing the traditional dressing moments. Cathlin received help putting on her wedding dress from her mother and her little sister. When I arrived, the makeup artist and hairstylist had just finished Cathlin's bridal makeup and wedding hairstyle. She looked stunning, with a hint of an Eastern vibe. Cathlin practices belly dancing as a hobby, and perhaps these influences come from there.
First, the wedding dress was placed on a beautiful mannequin for a few photos, and then she changed in the living room. A strapless dress with a ribbon closure, which always proves to be a delightful challenge for the person assisting the bride. Fortunately, there are photos with examples of how to thread the ribbon.
At half-past two, Rick rang the doorbell to pick her up for the civil ceremony at Auberge de Rousch. It was a well-attended ceremony with lots of family, friends, colleagues, and the children Cathlin mentors. During the ceremony, the couple recited a piece for each other, making it very personal. Their little French Bulldog had the special task of delivering the homemade wedding rings. These were tied with a bow to her collar.
After the ceremony, the children formed an honor guard outside with (how could it be otherwise) purple bows, the theme color of the day. Soap bubbles were blown, too. Everyone headed to the reception venue, and I drove with Cathlin, Rick, and their little dog in my car to Voerendaal, where we took a small romantic photo session in the field.
It was warm and cloudy, and we were running a bit behind schedule, but luckily, everything went smoothly. By around half-past five, we were on location for the cutting of the purple wedding cake.
That evening, I returned for an hour to capture the opening dance, a Rumba.
