Wedding Photographer Maastricht: Spontaneous and journalistic wedding reportage in the Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk and the Stayok Hotel along the Maas
Today marks an international wedding between a German bride and a Dutch groom. Both live with their son in Rijswijk but met each other in Maastricht, hence why the wedding took place here today.
I began this morning by photographing the bride getting ready in the beautiful Hotel Botticelli near the Vrijthof in Maastricht. The bride's hair was braided by her sister-in-law, while her sister also prepared herself, and her mother sat reading calmly.
The gorgeous wedding dress hung on the canopy bed. A relaxed atmosphere awaited, with old-fashioned music playing from the iPad, perfectly matching the hotel's charming ambiance. After the bride was dressed, I walked towards the Onze Lieve Vrouweplein, where I continued my wedding reportage by capturing the bride's arrival, brought to the church by her father. Many German and Austrian friends were waiting outside for the bridal couple, some in traditional attire.
It was my first wedding reportage in the Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk, a beautiful yet dimly lit church with a special atmosphere.
After the wedding ceremony, we took a photo of the entire group of wedding guests in the church's courtyard. Then, everyone headed to the Stayok Hotel along the Maas, where the wedding cakes were cut. Following this, there was a pleasant cocktail hour, with congratulations and gifts exchanged.
During the cocktail hour, I took a stroll with the bridal couple through the city for the wedding reportage. We took pictures outside and in the Chocolate Company shop, in the city park with their son and the ring bearer, and later on the Hoge Brug towards the Ceramique area. It's always enjoyable to walk through the streets with a bridal couple; many people respond and spontaneously offer congratulations.
