Wedding Photographer Maastricht: Wedding photography of an international wedding at Vaeshartelt Castle
A sneak preview of the romantic wedding reportage of the international wedding of Russian bride Elena and Rotterdam groom Henk, who tied the knot today in Maastricht.
I was the fortunate photographer capturing this wedding today. We began at their apartment on the Ceramique grounds. Henk had to "buy" the bride first through a traditional Russian game. Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for the bridal car, time we filled with a small, humorous wedding reportage, even with the mailman stopping by to deliver congratulatory cards.
Ultimately, we arrived a bit late at the theater on Vrijthof, where the wedding ceremony took place. After the ceremony, we took a stroll through Maastricht, across the fair at Vrijthof, along the old city walls, through the city park, and over the Maas bridge back to the Ceramique grounds.
From there, we drove to Vaeshartelt Castle in Weert (Meerssen) for the remainder of the reportage in the castle park, the dinner, congratulatory moments, gift-giving, and family portraits. Here, too, a Russian tradition came into play; the bride's parents presented the bridal couple with bread and salt, and whoever manages to grab the largest piece of bread becomes the head of the household :-)
