Wedding Photography Maastricht: A wedding reportage of an international wedding at Buitenplaats Vaeshartelt

A wedding reportage in November is always special. Most couples get married in spring or summer, but personally, as a wedding photographer, I am also a fan of wedding reportages in autumn and winter. Firstly, because it's not as hot then. It's just not pleasant to walk around in wedding attire at 30 degrees, and secondly, because of the fantastic autumn colors that are present now and that you will also see in the wedding photoshoot. The driveway to Buitenplaats Vaeshartelt had beautiful yellow colors.

We took a large part of the wedding photos on this driveway. Since it rained a lot on this wedding day (which apparently brings good luck), we tried to stay as much as possible sheltered under the trees. The beautiful autumn colors combined with the wedding bouquet gave this wedding reportage a special atmosphere.

The wedding photography started in the morning at home in Meerssen, where the bride, her mother, and her sister were getting makeup and hair done by 2 makeup artists. There was a cozy atmosphere in the house, the three dogs all had a pink bow around their necks, and the path to the house was stylishly decorated with white balloons and ivy. On the kitchen counter, there were sandwiches, waffles, and cake for everyone.

After the makeup and hair were done, it was time to dress the bride. As a wedding photographer, I always get to be there to capture this moment. The beautiful wedding dress was quickly on, then the groom arrived in their classic wedding car, there was a beautiful first look at the front door, and then I left together with the party to the town hall in Maastricht, where the wedding ceremony took place.

After the civil ceremony, there was a bubble arch, and then we went to Buitenplaats Vaeshartelt for the reception and dinner. Since the wedding cake was to be cut as a dessert and I, as the wedding photographer, was booked until 5:00 PM, I asked the kitchen to place the wedding cake for me for a moment so that I would still have a beautiful professional photo of it for the wedding album.

The rest of the afternoon was spent socializing, taking group photos, and capturing moments of the wedding reportage. Before the party sat down for dinner, I said goodbye.
